Above the Golm lie small mountain lakes in a glacial hollow – the destination of the Golmer lake trail. From the summit station the themed trail climbs over alpine meadows and boulder terrain to the lakes and on to the ridge, with boards on how the landscape formed; the loop is a good seven kilometres, has around 500 m of ascent and takes 3 to 3½ hours. Alpenroses bloom in July, the meadows turn colour in autumn.

Moderate, stony in the upper part – children of school age enjoy it. With the Alpine Coaster, forest rope park and refreshments at the summit station it becomes a whole Golm day.

The route leads from Sportshop Golm Bergstation via Latschätzkopf (2.219 m) and Golmer Kreuzjoch (2.261 m) and back to the starting point.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Montafonerbahn to Vandans or Tschagguns, Landbus to the Golm cable car in Vandans/Latschau (Golm valley station). From St. Gallenkirch: bus 650 with change in Schruns.

Free parking at the Golm cable car in Vandans and in Latschau (mid station/Gauertal car park, partly paid in summer).
