Latschätzer trail: Golm summit station – Lindauer Hütte

The easiest way to the Lindauer Hütte: almost level across the Latschätz alp with the Drei Türme and Sulzfluh in view the whole time.

From the summit station of the Golm cable car (Grüneck, about 1,890 m) the Latschätzer trail first climbs gently, then drops in a few short, steeper bends to the Latschätz alp (approx. 1,740 m) and continues as a panoramic path with hardly any elevation change to the Lindauer Hütte (1,744 m). The German Alpine Club hut sits at the head of the Gauertal directly beneath the north faces of the Drei Türme and Sulzfluh – one of the most striking backdrops in the Rätikon.

International hiking guides rate this high-level path as one of the finest approaches to the hut because it combines the views from the top station with a leisurely alpine pasture trail: cows on the Latschätz alp, views into the Gauertal and across to the Zimba. For the way back you have two options – return to the cable car, or descend through the Gauertal via the upper and lower Spora alps to Latschau (about 2 hours, a good 900 m of descent), where the Golm car park and bus stop are.
