„Montafoner Hut circuit | Gargellen bis Tilisunahütte“ is a demanding hike in the Montafon.

The route measures 9.9 km, with 1093 m of ascent and 289 m of descent, pure walking time is around 4:45 hours. The highest point is at 2,396 m, the lowest at 1,404 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Landbus 670 Schruns–St. Gallenkirch–Gargellen (hourly), stop Gargellen Schafberg cable car; approx. 20 min from St. Gallenkirch.

Free parking at the Schafberg cable car in Gargellen and at the end of the village (Vergalden).
