This loop on the Bartholomäberg links three destinations: the historic St. Anna mine with its show tunnel, the small moor lake Fritzensee in the forest and the Rellseck viewpoint with an inn and the view of the Zimba and Drei Türme. About 7 km, 470 m of ascent, 2½ to 3 hours on forest and meadow paths – moderate, well suited to families with school-age children.

The trail shows the Bartholomäberg from its quietest side: Maisäß huts, maple trees, benches on the slope. Return via the village or by bus.

The route leads via Bergknappenweg, alte Bergleute, Im Museum Frühmesshaus Bartholomäberg, Tschuga Moor, Roferweg, Haldenanschnitt und spätmittelalterliche Erzaufbereitung, Roferweg, spätmittelalterliche Bergschmiede, Knappengrube, Sankt Anna Stollen, Fritzensee, Goritschang (Bergknappenweg), Rellseck, Kapelle Rellseck and Aussichtspunkt Linda (Bergknappenweg) and back to the starting point.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.
