Vom Kapell übers Grasjoch to St. Gallenkirch
The high-level traverse from Schruns to St. Gallenkirch: from Kapell over the Kreuzjoch and Grasjoch, descending to the Grasjoch hut or by cable car.
This tour links the two Hochjoch ski areas with a high-level path: from the Kapell summit station over the Kreuzjoch (2,395 m) and along the ridge to the Grasjoch, where the Grasjoch hut and the cable car to St. Gallenkirch await. Around 15.7 km and 750 m of ascent – about 5 to 6 hours, with views of the Rätikon, Silvretta and into the Seetal. Taking the Grasjoch cable car saves the long descent into the valley.
A day tour for the fit; sure footing on the ridge is needed, there are no technical difficulties. Handy for us: start with the Hochjoch cable car in Schruns, finish at the Valisera valley station in St. Gallenkirch – 2 km from the house.
