„Von of the Unteren Gaflunaalpe via the Alpguessee to the Hochjoch“ is a demanding hike starting at Untere Gaflunaalpe (Silbertal). The route ends at Bergstation Hochjoch Bahn.

The route measures 15.4 km, with 1426 m of ascent and 495 m of descent, pure walking time is around 6:02 hours. The highest point is at 2,372 m, the lowest at 1,354 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

The route leads from Untere Gaflunaalpe via Oberer Alpguessee and Wormser Törl to Bergstation Hochjoch Bahn.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Landbus 680 Schruns–Silbertal to the Kristberg cable car valley station; hiking bus into the upper Silbertal (summer). From St. Gallenkirch via Schruns approx. 35 min.
