„Gargellen Forstweg Schmalzberg“ is a moderate snowshoe tour in the Montafon. Start and finish are the same, so you return to your car or bus stop without any shuttle.

The route measures 3.1 km, with 113 m of ascent, pure walking time is around 1 hour. The highest point is at 1,468 m, the lowest at 1,355 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

Landbus 670 Schruns–St. Gallenkirch–Gargellen (hourly), stop Gargellen Schafberg cable car; approx. 20 min from St. Gallenkirch.
