The Berghof Golm of the Tagwercher family stands at around 1,900 m right next to the Grüneck top station of the Golmerbahn – a privately run mountain hotel with dining rooms and a panorama terrace from which you look at the Drei Türme, Sulzfluh, Tschaggunser Mittagsspitze and Schwarzhorn. Montafon dishes lead the menu: Käsknöpfle (cheese noodles), Sura Kees (sour-milk cheese), Flädlesuppe (pancake soup), Kaiserschmarren; in summer a mountain breakfast is available on reservation. You can stay in comfort or standard rooms or in the mattress dormitory – around 70 beds and 30 dormitory places, half board with a four-course dinner. In winter the Cin Cin ice bar runs on the terrace.

The Berghof is one of the refreshment stops on the Golmer Höhenweg and sits at the start of the Golmi research trail for children; the Lindauer Hütte is 1½ to 2 hours away via the Latschätzer high-level path. From our house allow about half an hour's drive to the Golmerbahn in Vandans or the Latschau mid station (bus 650 to Schruns, then the local bus to the Golmerbahn). Golmerbahn summer 2026: 23 May – 18 October, 8.30 am – 5 pm; the Berghof is open whenever the cable car runs, with no rest day.

🧭 Route description

Take the Golmerbahn from Vandans or Latschau to the Grüneck top station; the Berghof is a few steps from the exit. On foot from Latschau via Matschwitz in about 2 hours.

💡 Tips & refreshments

Book rooms and the mountain breakfast early. If you sleep up here you have the Golmer Höhenweg to yourself in the morning. Summer ascent included in the Freizeit-WildPass; parking at Latschau is partly charged in summer.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Montafonerbahn to Vandans or Tschagguns, Landbus to the Golm cable car in Vandans/Latschau (Golm valley station). From St. Gallenkirch: bus 650 with change in Schruns.

Free parking at the Golm cable car in Vandans and in Latschau (mid station/Gauertal car park, partly paid in summer).
