Wiesbadener Hütte (2,443 m)
The big Silvretta hut at the foot of Piz Buin: 174 sleeping places, climbing garden, glacier views – 2 to 2½ hours from the Bielerhöhe (Vermunt cable car + tunnel bus).

The Wiesbadener Hütte of the DAV Wiesbaden section has stood since 1896 at 2,443 m at the head of the Ochsental, directly below Piz Buin (3,312 m), Silvrettahorn and the Ochsental glacier – the classic base for the glacier peaks of the Silvretta. With 80 beds and 94 dormitory places plus an open winter room for 20 people it is one of the big huts of the Eastern Alps. Since summer 2026 Petra Füruter and Marco Schiechtl from the Pitztal have run the house, after seven years with Emil Widmann. Facilities include a large sun terrace facing Piz Buin, a climbing garden with 26 routes and two via ferratas; the hut carries the environmental seal. The kitchen offers regional home cooking, with a four-course dinner, breakfast and tea water as the half-board package. There is practically no mobile signal up here.
The approach starts at the Bielerhöhe: along the track through the Ochsental in 2 to 2½ hours, via the high path (sure-footedness needed) in 2½ hours or as a loop over the Bieltal and Radsattel in 3 hours. Because the Silvretta High Alpine Road is closed on the Vorarlberg side until around 2030, you go up from Partenen by the Vermunt cable car and tunnel bus (summer 2026: 20 June – 4 October, last descent 5 pm) – from our house by bus 650 about an hour in total; by car only from Galtür (Tyrol). Summer 2026: 11 June – 27 September, ski touring season 12 February – 26 April 2026.
