Natural toboggan run Kapell - Kropfen (Hochjoch Cable car)

Five kilometres of natural toboggan run from Kapell to the Kropfen middle station – through the snowy mountain forest, for all ages.

The natural toboggan run on the Hochjoch leads from the Kapell summit station (1,850 m) five kilometres through the winter forest to the Kropfen middle station of the Hochjoch cable car. The run is wide and even, without tricky sections – according to the operator and foreign portals suitable “for every age and level of experience”, so easily doable with children. Ascent by the Hochjoch cable car from Schruns (toboggan ticket), refreshments at the Kapell restaurant or Gasthaus Kropfen. Sledge hire at the valley station; open during the day, no floodlights.

Check the current avalanche report (lawine-vorarlberg.at) and opening status before setting off; toboggan runs are only prepared with sufficient snow.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Landbus 680 Schruns–Silbertal to the Kristberg cable car valley station; hiking bus into the upper Silbertal (summer). From St. Gallenkirch via Schruns approx. 35 min.
