The Garfrescha night toboggan run is the winter-evening classic in St. Gallenkirch – and for our guests the tour that starts without a car: from 6 pm the Garfrescha cable car (600 m from the house) takes you up to the Maisäß village of Garfrescha, from where you toboggan 5.5 km over forest sections, bumps and bends back to the valley – around 20 minutes of riding, fully floodlit. Listeners of Antenne Vorarlberg voted it the “best toboggan run in Vorarlberg”; English-language portals call it the longest floodlit run in the province.

Open depending on snow from mid-December on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays; last ascent and descent 8:30 pm. Sledges are hired at the valley station; at the top the Vermala inn and Alpenhotel Garfrescha serve Käsknöpfle and mulled wine. Helmet and head torch recommended, sturdy footwear essential.
