„Europatreppe 4000 (inkl. Rückweg via Bofa to Partenen)“ is a demanding circular hike starting at Talstation Vermuntbahn Partenen (Gaschurn). Start and finish are the same, so you return to your car or bus stop without any shuttle.

The route measures 5.0 km, with 680 m of ascent, pure walking time is around 2:10 hours. The highest point is at 1,711 m, the lowest at 1,031 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

The route leads from Talstation Vermuntbahn Partenen via Trominier, 15. Sabine Kössler, Alpinhotel Zerres - Restaurant, 12. Sport Stöckl (Ulli Stöckl), 13. Helene Wakolbinger (bei Hotel Hubertusklause), Dreizehenspecht, Illwerke-Park Partenen and T10: Talstation Tafamuntbahn and back to the starting point.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.
