„Montafoner Rätikonrunde | Top station Golmerbahn bis Douglass Hut“ is a demanding hike in the Montafon.

The route measures 13.3 km, with 979 m of ascent and 890 m of descent, pure walking time is around 6 hours. The highest point is at 2,332 m, the lowest at 1,861 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

The route leads via Latschätzkopf (2.219 m), Golmer Kreuzjoch (2.261 m), Schweizer Tor and Lünersee.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Montafonerbahn to Vandans or Tschagguns, Landbus to the Golm cable car in Vandans/Latschau (Golm valley station). From St. Gallenkirch: bus 650 with change in Schruns.

Free parking at the Golm cable car in Vandans and in Latschau (mid station/Gauertal car park, partly paid in summer).
