Silbertal Village Loop

Silbertal (889 m) is the smallest municipality in the Montafon with around 850 inhabitants and owes its name to the medieval silver and copper mining on the Kristberg. The village loop stays in the valley of the Litz: from the centre by the Spar shop and Hotel Hirschen you walk via the hamlets of Felsa and Wüarri to the Burgkopf, a small knoll above the village, and back via the Kristberg cable car car park. 2.92 km, 86 m of ascent, about 53 minutes, easy – according to the provincial trail data mostly on cleared paths, with a short groomed section. The view reaches up the narrow Silbertal and up to the Kristberg plateau; if you like, visit the mining museum in the village afterwards.

From our house it is 20 minutes by car (free parking at the Kristberg cable car) or bus 650 to Schruns and bus 680 to Silbertal – about 35 minutes in all. Refreshments at the Hotel Hirschen on the route. We recommend the village loop as a complement to a Kristberg day: first the loop down below, then up by the Kristberg cable car (winter 2026/27 according to the operator 11 December 2026 to 29 March 2027) to the trails on the “Genießerberg”.
