Innerberg via Fritzensee to Bartholomäberg
From the Innerberg bus terminus over the Barthold Rank and the Fritzensee down to Bartholomäberg's baroque church: 6.3 km, 297 m of ascent, 2½ hours.
This linear walk uses the bus as a shuttle: the start is in Innerberg (around 1,170 m), the farthest hamlet of Bartholomäberg at the terminus of line 640. Via the Tröllerweg and Botzis you climb to the Barthold Rank, where most of the ascent is done, walk almost level via the Lippaloch to the Fritzensee at 1,478 m – in winter a white expanse between Maisäß huts with a view of the Hochjoch opposite – and descend via Goritschang and Linda to the baroque church of Bartholomäberg. 6.32 km, 297 m up, 392 m down, about 2½ hours, moderate. The paths alternate between forest passages and open slopes; according to the provincial trail data they are mostly cleared, rolled around the Fritzensee.
From our house it is 24 minutes by car to Innerberg, or bus 650 to Schruns and bus 640 to the Innerberg Gasthaus Mühle terminus; at the end the same line takes you back from Bartholomäberg Kirche. The Gasthaus Mühle ended its regular restaurant service in June 2026 – so plan refreshments in Bartholomäberg or Schruns. If you would rather finish uphill, walk the route in the opposite direction.
