Innerberg, the farthest hamlet of Bartholomäberg, and the Kristberg plateau above Silbertal lie on the same sunny slope – this walk links the two. From the bus terminus in Innerberg (around 1,170 m) you climb gently via the Glänweg and the Totabühel meadows to the Kristberg cable car's top station at 1,442 m; there you find the miners' chapel of St Agatha, the oldest surviving church in the Montafon, the Panoramagasthof Kristberg, the Gasthof Kristberg and the Knappastoba, with views of the Rätikon and Verwall. You return the same way. 7.04 km, 269 m of ascent, about 2¼ hours, easy – according to the provincial trail data on a mix of groomed and cleared paths, well away from the ski slopes.

From our house it is 24 minutes by car to Innerberg, or bus 650 to Schruns and bus 640 to the Innerberg Gasthaus Mühle terminus (the inn itself ended its regular service in 2026). If you prefer not to walk back, ride the Kristberg cable car down to Silbertal and take bus 680 to Schruns; according to the operator the cable car is expected to run from 11 December 2026 to 29 March 2027 in winter 2026/27, with earlier Advent weekends. At the top the walk combines well with the small Kristberg loop or a toboggan run.

💡 Tips & refreshments

Sturdy winter boots and poles; the Glänweg can be icy in the shade. Check the Kristberg inns' opening hours beforehand (Panoramagasthof daily 8 am–6 pm in winter 2025/26). Dogs welcome.
