Easy Loop Bartholomäberg (via Lochweg and Obdörfleweg)
Leisurely village loop on the sun balcony: from the baroque church to Fernblick and back via the Lochweg, Obdörfleweg and Egg – 4.9 km, 133 m of ascent, 1½ hours.
This loop stays within Bartholomäberg itself (1,087 m) and shows why the village is called the “sun balcony of the Montafon”: it follows part of the Panoramastraße halfway up the slope above Schruns, with the valley below and the Rätikon opposite. From the baroque church you head towards Innerberg as far as the Ferienhotel Fernblick at 1,108 m, the highest point, then take the Lochweg to the Därfli/Paradies junction and return to the church via the Obdörfleweg and the hamlet of Egg. 4.90 km, 133 m of ascent, about 1½ hours, easy – mostly on cleared village lanes and rolled paths, with no steep sections. The loop lies in the sun almost all the way, which counts for a lot on cold January days.
From our house 20 minutes by car (car park opposite the church) or bus 650 to Schruns and bus 640 to Bartholomäberg Kirche. Refreshments in the village inns; a visit to the baroque church with its well-known organ rounds off the afternoon. If you would like more climbing, add the loop via Chrestlis Egg to Fernblick, which starts at the same point.
