Tschagguns via the Lochmühle to Latschau

Latschau sits at almost 1,000 m above Tschagguns, and this trail takes you up away from the road: 3.5 km, 340 m of ascent, about an hour and a half, classified by the state as a moderate winter trail. It starts in the centre of Tschagguns (685 m) at the parish and pilgrimage church of the Nativity of Mary, whose construction began in 1452. Via the Säumerweg and Feschasweg you reach the Rasafeibach, follow it up to the Lochmühle, briefly cross the road and continue up the Stampfweg and the section "Im Stutz" until the Latschau reservoir lies just a few metres ahead of you.

According to the state's winter trail data, more than 90 per cent of the route is cleared, so it is usually in good condition; the climb is steep in places. At the top, the loop around the reservoir is worth adding, after which you either take the Golmerbahn down to Vandans, the Landbus back from Latschau or walk down the same way. From our house you reach Tschagguns on bus 650 (Zelfen stop) or in 12 minutes by car; parking in the village centre and at the Alpenbad.
