Nova Stoba Mountain Restaurant
The big mountain restaurant at the Versettla top station (2,010 m): self-service, waited-on parlours, wine bar and sun terrace – valley station 5 minutes from our house.
The Nova Stoba stands right at the top station of the Versettla cable car above Gaschurn at 2,010 m and is the central meeting point of the Silvretta Montafon ski area. The building has several levels: self-service with a large sun terrace downstairs, waited-on parlours upstairs and the Vinnova wine bar with more than 100 wines and regional small plates – according to the operator the highest wine bar in Vorarlberg. Hut directories list around 1,500 seats inside and as many again outside, which makes the Nova Stoba one of the largest mountain restaurants in the Alps. The kitchen under Kurt Woltsche gives Montafon dishes a modern twist; in summer there is a mountain breakfast on Wednesdays, in winter après-ski with live music at the Sternenbar.
From our house it is 4 km to the valley station in Gaschurn (bus 650 about 10 minutes, stop Versettla-Bahn). The gondola takes about 7 minutes and in summer the ride up is included in the Freizeit-WildPass. From the top, hikes lead to the Madrisella, to the Alpe Nova and across to the Garfrescha plateau; there is a playground in front of the building. Versettla cable car summer 2026: 19 June – 4 October, last ascent 4.30 pm.
