Pfannknecht Via Ferrata
Summit via ferrata (C) to the Pfannknecht (2,822 m) in the upper Paznaun – high-alpine and scenic.
The Pfannknecht is a peak above the Jamtal near Galtür; its via ferrata leads at grade C through well-anchored passages in the gneiss to 2,822 m. Around 680 m of ascent and 4 to 5 hours make it a solid day tour for experienced climbers, with views of the Fluchthorn and the Silvretta glaciers.
Like all Galtür destinations, the Pfannknecht is currently only reachable via Tyrol as the Silvretta High Alpine Road is closed on the Vorarlberg side – plan it as an excursion day to the Paznaun.
