MAP Kellergalerie e.V.

The cellar gallery of the “Montafoner Artgenossen Plattform” next to Schruns station: three to four exhibitions a year since 1999, open Fri–Sun 5–7 pm.

all year 🍼 Stroller friendly 🌧️ Also in bad weather

MAP stands for “Montafoner Artgenossen Plattform”, and behind it lies a typical valley story: Schruns GP Johann Wolfgang Trippolt, a passionate amateur gallerist, began exhibiting art in his surgery rooms in 1999. This grew into a non-profit association with its own rooms in the cellar of Bahnhofstraße 12, right by Schruns station. Three to four exhibitions a year show painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture by regional and international artists; in 2026 these included prints by Eva Hörschläger, the sculpture show “Kunst am Bauhof” by Anna Zadra and, from September, the photography exhibition “VAKUUM” by Hermann Präg. The format is deliberately small and personal – often someone from the association is there to talk about the works.

It is open only during exhibitions, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 5 to 7 pm (as of 2026, subject to change). From our house it is 9.6 km or 13 minutes; with bus 650 or the Montafonerbahn you get off at Schruns station and are there in a minute. Together with the Kunstforum Montafon in the Kronengasse it makes a small gallery circuit through Schruns, with the Schruns art and shopping night in autumn as the highlight.
