Montikel panorama trail (Bludenz)

The Montikel is the wooded hill directly above Bludenz old town. The state of Vorarlberg’s panorama trail leads over it for just under two kilometres and delivers what the name promises: views of the “Alpine town” with the Laurentius church, Gayenhofen castle and the arcades of the old town, into the Klostertal, Walgau, Brandnertal and Montafon valleys, and of the Zimba and Fundelkopf. Benches and information boards line the route.

Bludenz itself is worth a stroll: the pedestrian zone with cafés, the Fohrenburg brewery (guided tours with guest card discount) and the smell of chocolate from the Milka factory are among the experiences highlighted by guidebooks from abroad. From St. Gallenkirch it is 25 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bus and Montafonerbahn.
