„Wiegensee-Kopssee“ is a moderate hike in the Montafon.

The route measures 8.2 km, with 624 m of ascent and 335 m of descent, pure walking time is around 4 hours. The highest point is at 2,000 m, the lowest at 1,529 m.

The starting point is reached by cable car – in summer the ride is included with the Freizeit-WildPass (summer multi-day pass), otherwise a lift ticket is needed; the free Montafon guest card only gives a discount.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.

Landbus 650 to Partenen (terminus), Tafamunt and Vermunt cable cars a 5-minute walk; approx. 20 min from St. Gallenkirch.
