The Hanglage is Silvretta Montafon's newest venue: a wine bar with lounge on the upper floor of the rebuilt Kapellrestaurant at the Hochjoch top station at 1,850 m, opened for the 2025/26 winter season. The concept differs from a classic mountain restaurant: small dishes to share, wine flights, cocktails and wines from, among others, the Vorarlberg winemakers Uwe Schneider and Claudia Dietrich-Wekerle, plus winemaker evenings. The menu also lists schnitzel, home-made Kässpätzle with fried onions, salads and desserts. A fireplace, lounge furniture and a terrace looking out over the Montafon define the room; in winter, Fridays bring the Sundowner Session with a DJ and the cable car running until 6 pm.

You reach the Hanglage the same way as the Kapellrestaurant: bus 650 for about 15 minutes or 9.5 km by car to Schruns, then just under 8 minutes on the Hochjoch cable car. In summer 2026 there is the Breakfast Club on Tuesdays (7 July – 25 August) with breakfast in the lounge. If you hike to the Wormser Hütte or the Kreuzjoch, this is the place to finish with a glass of wine on the way back – keeping the last descent at 5 pm in mind.

As for the Kapellrestaurant: bus 650 or car to Schruns, Hochjoch cable car to the Kapell top station; the Hanglage is on the upper floor of the restaurant building.

💡 Tips & refreshments

Book ahead for wine evenings and the Breakfast Club. The Hanglage shares building, cable car and opening times with the Kapellrestaurant; for families with small children the ground-floor self-service is more practical.

🚌 Getting there by public transport

Montafonerbahn to Schruns station (every 30 min from Bludenz), Hochjoch cable car a 5-minute walk; Landbus 650 from St. Gallenkirch approx. 15 min.

Parking at the Hochjoch cable car in Schruns is paid and limited; alternative free parking at the Zamang cable car.
