The Lindauer Hütte of the DAV Lindau section has stood since 1899 at 1,744 m at the head of the Gauertal, directly below the Drei Türme, the Sulzfluh and the Drusenturm – one of the best-known hut locations in the Rätikon. Nadja and Stefan Köberle have run the house since late 2023. With 163 sleeping places (double and multi-bed rooms plus 60 dormitory places and a 12-place winter room) it is one of the largest huts in the region and carries the Alpine Club's environmental seal. Around the hut are an alpine garden dating from 1907 with several hundred plant species, a climbing garden and the via ferrata to the Gauablick cave; the menu features spinach dumplings, Kaiserschmarren and schnitzel, and there is a sauna and half board. Dutch hiking blogs praise the Kaiserschmarren and the cosy dining room.

The classic approach is the track from Latschau through the Gauertal in 2 to 2½ hours; the Latschätzer high path from the Golmerbahn top station is shorter (1½ to 2 hours), the Golmer Höhenweg longer and more scenic (3 to 3½ hours). From our house allow about half an hour to Latschau or the Golmerbahn (bus 650 to Schruns, then the local bus). From the hut you can go on to the Geißspitze (1½ hours), the Sulzfluh (5 hours) or over the Öfapass to the Tilisunahütte. Summer 2026: 30 May – 10 October, winter 25 December 2026 – 27 March 2027.
