Tilisunahütte (2,211 m)

The Tilisunahütte of the Austrian Alpine Club's Vorarlberg section lies at 2,211 m by the Tilisunasee at the top of the Gampadelstal – right on the boundary between limestone and crystalline rock, with the Sulzfluh (2,818 m) as its home peak. The house was built in 1879 and renewed step by step in recent years (sanitary facilities 2013, kitchen and dining room 2014, water supply and treatment plant 2019); Markus and Sabine Jankowitsch have run it since 2019. There are two dining rooms, a large sun terrace, small dormitory rooms and mattress dormitories for around 100 guests in total, plus a small emergency room and a locked, heated winter room in winter. The kitchen relies on regional produce and offers a climbers' meal, breakfast buffet and half board, vegetarian too; the Alpine Club lists the hut with its environmental seal and as family-friendly.

The Tilisuna is the base for the via ferratas up the Sulzfluh and to the Gauablick cave and lies on the Rätikon high route (3 hours to the Lindauer Hütte, 2 hours to the Carschinahütte). Approaches: from Tschagguns 4½ hours, from the Berggasthof Grabs 3 hours, from Latschau via the Schwarzhornsattel, from St. Gallenkirch via the Gweiljoch or – shortest of all – from Partnun in the Prättigau in 1½ to 2 hours. From our house it is about 15 minutes to Tschagguns (bus 650/651). Season 2026: 12/13 June to 4 October.
