Totalphütte (2,385 m)
The Alpine Club hut above the Lünersee, rebuilt in 2020: base for the Schesaplana, 87 sleeping places – 1 to 1½ hours from the Lünersee cable car.

The Totalphütte of the Austrian Alpine Club's Vorarlberg section stands at 2,385 m on a shelf high above the Lünersee and is the highest staffed hut in the Rätikon. In January 2019 a powder avalanche almost completely destroyed the old house; the new timber building opened in summer 2020 and is designed for avalanche loads of 10 tonnes per square metre. The Beck family now hosts 87 sleeping places in four- and eight-bed rooms and dormitories, plus an open winter room with 10 beds, showers, a drying room and a sun terrace looking out to the Silvretta, Verwall and as far as the Bernina. Half board comes as a three-course dinner with breakfast buffet, there is a climbers' meal, and vegan or gluten-free food on request; the hut carries the environmental seal.
From here you climb the Schesaplana (2,965 m), the highest peak in the Rätikon, in 2 hours, or walk to the Heinrich-Hueter-Hütte in 2¾ hours and the Lindauer Hütte in 3½. The approach starts at the top station of the Lünersee cable car (Douglasshütte) and takes 1 to 1½ hours; if you prefer to walk all the way, start at Brand-Schattenlagant (2½ hours). From our house you drive via Bludenz into the Brandnertal, about 45 minutes to the valley station of the Lünersee cable car (summer 2026: 23 May – 26 October). End of season 2026: 27 September.
