Above the village of St. Anton at the entrance to the Montafon this via ferrata climbs alongside a waterfall: well-stepped rock at grade B/C, a key section at C/D and several rope bridges that can be bypassed if necessary. With around 370 m of ascent and a good two hours it is an ideal half-day tour, and because it lies low it can be climbed from April to November (closed 1 December to 15 March).

English-language portals highlight the view over the valley floor and the Rätikon. From our house it is 20 minutes by car or Montafonerbahn; the start is above the village.

Start early – summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. Carry enough water; many huts are only open from late June to late September.

From the holiday house in St. Gallenkirch the starting point is easy to reach by Landbus (stop 400 m away) or car – see the travel notes.
