Atelier Arte Ferrum

“Arte Ferrum” – iron art – is the name of the small studio on the Silvrettastraße in Partenen, and the name says it all: graphic artist and painter Dieter Schneeweiß, owner of the Montafoner Schnitzstube carving workshop, works here together with the iron artist Rudolf Farkas and the sculptor Martin Pfefferkorn, who combines wood and metal. On show are graphics, paintings, objects in iron and sculptures, which can also be bought; the three see themselves as an interdisciplinary group experimenting with colour, form and material. The 2009 initiative “Kunscht id's Darf”, which brought art into the village, grew out of the studio – and in 2026 Partenen is an open-air gallery once more: along the Dorfstraße stand the roughly four-metre figures in stone, driftwood and metal by Bludenz artist Marcel Dengel, and guided art walks start at the studio in autumn (booking via Montafon Tourismus).

There are no fixed opening hours: the artist is in the studio almost every day, and when he is there the doors are open. The safest way is a quick phone call (+43 699 12274 610), or combine the visit with the Naturraum.Verwall in the same building, which is accessible daily from 7 am to 10 pm. From our house it is 8.5 km or 11 minutes; bus 650 stops in the centre of Partenen.
