Ganlätsch Loop
Silbertal's after-work loop close to the village: 5.7 km and 259 m of ascent via the Kapellbahn valley station to Ganlätsch, with a viewpoint over the village.
The Ganlätsch Loop is the spur-of-the-moment route in the Silbertal running network: 5.7 km, 259 m of ascent, between 846 and 1,060 m, graded moderate. From the sports ground it leads through the centre to the Kapellbahn valley station, climbs via Höfle to Ganlätsch on the slope above the village and reaches a viewpoint looking over Silbertal and the Litz towards the Kristberg. Via the Burgkopf you return to the sports ground. The surface alternates between path, gravel and tarmac – an undulating profile that suits intervals or an easy steady run. The 1 hour 6 minutes in our fact box is a guide value for hikers; runners are done in a good half hour.
Silbertal is the quietest village in the Montafon; the loop is good for the evening when the slope above the village still has sun. Water is available at the sports ground and the village fountains, refreshments in Silbertal's inns. From our house in St. Gallenkirch it is a 21-minute drive; bus 650 to Schruns and bus 680 into the Silbertal take about 35 minutes. For more, add the Buchen Loop, which starts at the same sports ground.
