Golfclub Montafon (Tschagguns)

The Golfclub Montafon was founded in 1989 as Vorarlberg’s first golf club and lies on the valley floor at Tschagguns-Zelfen, right next to the Aktivpark. The 9-hole course follows the Ill with largely level, natural fairways between mature trees, short and long holes alternating – the longest measures 542 m from the yellow tees and is, according to the club, the longest hole in western Austria. Rätikon and Silvretta provide the backdrop. The course has a driving range with no range fee, a putting green, a pro shop and a golf school for beginners and advanced players; in the clubhouse “Vroni’s Küche” cooks daily from 9.00 to 21.00. Tournaments are held regularly during the season, and the office is staffed from 9.00 to 18.00.

Green-fee players are welcome; book tee times online via the club’s tee-time system. For current green fees it is best to phone (+43 5556 77011), as no price list was available online at the time of our research. From our house it is 8 km or 10 minutes by car (parking at the clubhouse, Zelfenstraße 110) or bus 651 to Tschagguns Zelfen. If you combine your round with a family outing, send the others to the Alpenbad next door. The former second course in Partenen is closed – golf in the Montafon today means Tschagguns.
