Montafon Totale Mountain Run 10: 10 km, 1,200 m of ascent

The Mountain Run 10 is the shortest course of the Montafon Totale Trail and a classic vertical with a cable-car descent: 9.2 km, 1,200 m of climbing and only 41 m of descent, from 814 m at the Silvretta Park in St. Gallenkirch up to 2,006 m at the Nova Stoba. From the village centre you pass the Valisera Bahn valley station and climb steeply into the Maisäß hamlet of Garfrescha (aid station in the race), then comes the second climb up the Gantekopf (1,958 m), and along the ridge it is only a few more metres to the finish on the terrace of the Nova Stoba mountain restaurant. Forest and alp tracks, an open grassy ridge higher up with views of the Rätikon and Silvretta; the 2½ hours in our fact box is a hiking guide value. Down to the valley you take the Valisera Bahn to St. Gallenkirch (summer 2026: 27 June to 20 September) or the Versettla Bahn to Gaschurn (19 June to 4 October).

The race starts at 11:00 at the Silvretta Park Montafon, with the finish closing at 18:00; the 2026 edition took place on 4 July, the next is planned for 3 July 2027. The organiser Silvretta Montafon requires trail shoes and a phone. For us it is the course on our doorstep: the start is 2 km from the holiday house, the bus stop 400 m – ideal as training on a clear morning.
