The Tafamunt Trail is the big loop over the sunny slope between Gaschurn and Partenen. From the Mountain Beach leisure park (941 m) you run up the valley on the cycle path to the Maria Schnee chapel, a pilgrimage chapel dating from 1637, and then climb via the outer and inner Tafamunt Maisäß to 1,512 m. Tafamunt is a typical Montafon Maisäß settlement – huts and meadows of the intermediate level between valley and alp, with wide views of Versettla, Valschaviel and the Silvretta. The descent leads via Rifa and through the Kilkner forest back to the chapel and along the cycle path to Mountain Beach. According to the track 10.3 km and 672 m of ascent, guideline 2 hours 14 minutes walking time. Surface: asphalt on the cycle path, otherwise forest roads, meadow and woodland paths.

The loop makes a fine long steady run with one continuous climb and can be extended with the Rifa basin loop for a few fast intervals or with the Gaschurn village loop. At the finish the natural bathing lake at Mountain Beach beckons in summer. From our house it is just under 4 km – about 10 minutes on bus 650 to Gaschurn Versettla-Bahn, or you run there along the cycle path.
