Tandem paragliding (Flyingfor2)

In tandem paragliding you sit in the harness in front of the pilot, take a few running steps – and the rest is floating. Flyingfor2 is the provider from our neighbourhood: Werner Burger has been flying for more than 40 years, has by his own account more than 10,000 flights in his logbook and holds the state tandem licence; his office is on the Türkeiweg in Gortipohl, a few house numbers from our holiday home. Depending on wind and thermals you take off from different sites: from the Sennigrat above Schruns (2,300 m, about 1,600 m of height difference, 20 to 30 minutes in the air), from the Versettla in Gaschurn (2,010 m, 15 to 20 minutes) or from the sunny slopes near St. Gallenkirch and Gaschurn at about 1,600 m (20 to 25 minutes). In summer you land on a meadow, in winter on skis in the snow – flights are offered year-round.

A flight costs €165 to €185 depending on the take-off site, including insurance and GoPro footage; the cable car ticket is extra, and the Montafon guest card gives 10 % off. No experience is needed, but sturdy shoes and robust clothing are; check weight and age limits when booking by phone or WhatsApp (+43 664 3579659). Other tandem providers in the valley are Paragleiten Montafon and Air Montafon. To reach the take-off site take bus 650 to Schruns or Gaschurn and then the Hochjoch/Sennigrat or Versettla cable cars.
