Wildried high-level route

The Kristberg is the sunny balcony above the Silbertal, and the Wildried high-level route is its running trail: an out-and-back from the top station of the Kristbergbahn (1,443 m) via the “Sieba Brünna” Kneipp facility to the Wildried high moor at 1,578 m and back the same way. According to the track 9.0 km and 235 m of ascent, guideline 1 hour 47 minutes walking time – as a run a relaxed hour at altitude. According to OpenStreetMap the route follows gravel alp tracks and hiking paths almost level along the slope, with open views of the Silbertaler Lobspitze (2,605 m) and into the Verwall. The Wildried is a protected high moor with pools and dwarf shrubs.

A high-level run without big climbs is rare in the Montafon – which is why we recommend the route for base-pace runs, for hot days and for runners who want to acclimatise to altitude. Refreshments at the top station in the Panoramagasthof and in the inns on the Kristberg; the Kristbergbahn runs in summer 2026 from 1 May to 1 November (included in the Freizeit-WildPass). From our house it is 21 km or around 30 minutes; by buses 650 and 680 via Schruns about 35 minutes to the valley station.
