Gaschurn "Gosta" Loop

The Gosta is the sunny slope directly above the centre of Gaschurn (979 m), and this short loop explores it: from the village centre you climb to the Obere Gosta, follow the Valschavielstraße along the Valschaviel stream, which emerges here from its side valley, and return via Winkel and the Untere Gosta. 2.57 km, 129 m of ascent, about an hour – easy, but with a short, noticeable climb, on a groomed track through woods and open hillside meadows, with views over the rooftops of Gaschurn to the Versettla side. On the way there is an adventure playground with a barbecue spot, which makes the loop popular with families, and by the community centre the Lukas Tschofen Stube, a Montafon parlour some 300 years old.

From our house it is 6 minutes by car (parking at the municipal office or at the school opposite the Versettla cable car) or about 10 minutes on Landbus 650 to Gaschurn Versettla Bahn. Refreshments in the village inns. To fill the afternoon, combine the Gosta loop with the village loop through the historic centre or with the Alpine and Tourism Museum; the Versettla cable car runs from 3 December 2026 to 11 April 2027 in winter 2026/27.
