The Innerkapell winter trail is the quiet one among the Hochjoch walks: from the top station of the Kapell Bahn (1,653 m), which comes up from the Silbertal, it leads through snowy mountain forest across to the Innerkapell alp at 1,662 m and back the same way. 3.5 km, 102 m of ascent, about an hour and a half; the highest point is at 1,751 m. The alp is staffed in summer but closed in winter – so you come for the views of the Rätikon and Verwall and for the silence. The trail crosses a wildlife refuge where red deer and chamois spend the winter: you must not leave the path, dogs stay on the lead and all litter goes home with you.

The trail belongs to the Silvretta Montafon network and is tied to its operation (winter 2026/27: 19 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, pedestrian "ascent & descent" ticket). Refreshments are available at Kapell (1,850 m) in the Kapellrestaurant, which you reach via the Seebliga winter trail or by lift – the two trails combine nicely into a half day. Getting there from our house: bus 650 to Schruns and bus 680 to Silbertal Kapell Bahn (about 35 minutes), or from Schruns up on the Hochjoch Bahn and via Seebliga to the Kapell Bahn top station.
