The upper section of the Valisera trail: 2 km from the Valisera Bahn top station (2,098 m), 150 m down and back up – 50 minutes with views over St. Gallenkirch.

At 2.7 km the Valisera winter trail is the longest in the Silvretta Montafon ski area and is divided into two sections. Valisera I is the upper, always walkable part: from the Valisera Bahn top station at 2,098 m the groomed path descends 148 m to around 1,950 m and returns the same way – 2 km, about 50 minutes, rated moderate by the operator. You walk along the slope high above St. Gallenkirch with views of the Rätikon and Verwall; down in the valley you can see Gortipohl and therefore our house.

The Valisera Bahn (two modern 10-seater gondola lifts from St. Gallenkirch) is 2 km from us; pedestrians use the "ascent & descent" ticket, in winter 2026/27 from 28 November 2026 to 11 April 2027. At the top station the Valisera Hüsli awaits for refreshments, and with sufficient snow you can continue down Valisera II to the middle station instead of turning back. Two minutes away, the short path to the Sonnenbahn top station also starts.

💡 Tips & refreshments

Downhill first, then uphill – don't underestimate the 150 m of climbing on the way back. Spikes and poles recommended by the operator; check trail status (silvretta-montafon.at) and the avalanche situation. Dogs on a lead, do not cross the pistes.
